Storyverse — location-based storytelling app concept

The Concept

A location-based storytelling app where stories are pinned to real-world places. The catch: you have to physically be at the location to unlock and read them — a mechanic inspired by geocaching. Both author and reader share the same place at different points in time, adding a layer of connection that traditional social media can't replicate. The idea predates Pokémon GO, which later proved that location-gating creates powerful engagement.

The Experience

Users explore a map to discover nearby stories — historical facts, personal memories, attempts at humour. Authors place stories at specific geolocations using the app. The UI was designed around the constraint that browsing from the couch isn't an option — every interaction begins with movement.
